Elena Williams

Elena Williams, known to many as Grandma Elena, died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Portland, Oregon. Elena was a lifelong educator, spending thirty years teaching English at Franklin High School, where her animated personality and and passion for storytelling inspired generations of students.

Elena was a vibrant part of her community in so many ways. She was dedicated to many local causes and non-profits, and was often found volunteering at the neighborhood library. Her home was always open, filled with the warmth of her cooking and the comforting hum a record player, always happy to talk about her extensive vinyl collection. She was a woman of gentle strength, endless curiosity and a deep love for reading, hiking, and gardening.
